(AEN) – The National Board of Examination (NBE) administers the NEET PG exam, which is the first step for students hoping to enter postgraduate education in medicine.
The NEET PG exam has been delayed from July 7, 2024, to June 23, 2024, according the most recent official notification. An announcement of the results is anticipated by July 15, 2024.

NEET PG 2024 Exam Pattern (Revised)
The NEET PG 2024 exam pattern has been changed significantly.
The exam will be held in computer based mode and the candidates will to solve the questions of a particular section first and only then move to other sections if they have time left after that section.
Once the allotted time for a specific section is over, candidates cannot go back to it for reviewing or changing their answers.
The details of the test structure are as follows:
- Mode of the examination: Online (computer-based test)
- Medium of the examination: English (only)
- Duration of the examination: 3.5 hours
- Total marks: 800
- Number of questions: 200
- Type of questions: Multiple-choice questions
- Negative marking: Yes
NEET PG 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Presumably, the given qualifications of NEET PG 2024 are provided by NBE which are based on Indian Medical Council Act 1956.
To be eligible for the examination, candidates must meet the following requirements:To be eligible for the examination, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Age Limit: The candidates who are applying for NEET PG 2024 are not limited to any age limit set by the authorities. The aspirants can appear at the examination any number of times which is obviously till their stars align with their dreams of their postgraduate medical degree.
- Minimum Qualification: Candidates amount be MBBS degree holders from medical institutes duly recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI). Besides this, they should also take admission according to the rules with MBBS degree, or a Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate.
- Internship: Candidates are expected to successfully complete their one-year intern experience on own their time which ends on or before August 15, 2024. Those who fail to finish the training scheme within the specified time will be permitted to apply for the next year’s examination.
- Registration Certificate: The applicants should hold a previous certificate of Registration that was approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any other State Medical Council (SMC). The certificate of Registration will have to be handed over the candidates on their way for examination along with the other documents for verification.
- Nationality: The Indian citizens along with OCI’s are the ones who apply for NEET PG 2024.
- FMGE Pass Certificate: To be considered for National Medical Commission registration, Foreign Medical Graduates shall be required to have passed the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) and will possess the relevant Pass Certificates. In addition to this, the candidate must submit their certificates/reports on or before 15th August 2024, at the MCI/SMC. Furthermore, the candidate must register with the MCI/SMC through the FMGE Pass Certificate.
NEET PG 2024 Application Process
The NEET PG 2024 application form will be released on the official website nbe.edu.in. Initially, candidates have to register for the application successfully.
After completion of successful registration, a login ID and password will be created.
All necessary documents have to be uploaded by the candidates and submit the form by making a non-refundable registration fee payment.
The following are the steps involved in the application process:
- Registration: Candidates should enter their candidature’s name; date of birth (DOB); sex (male/ female); mobile number; email id; nationality and captcha.
- Fill the Application Form: Candidates are required to fill personal particulars about them, qualifications attained so far and centre where they want take up examination.
- Upload required documents: Passport size photograph must be uploaded; also signature copy along with thumb impression is needed from every aspirant applying for this test.
- Pay Application Fee: Net banking or credit card can be used by candidates when paying application fees.
